How to watch the Facebook groups your Page belongs to
If you join Facebook groups as your business Page instead of your personal profile, those groups belong to the Page. GroupSignal can watch them: it reads groups as whichever profile Facebook is using in that Chrome. The simplest setup is a Chrome profile that stays switched to your Page.
Why your Page's groups don't show up
Facebook keeps a groups list for your personal profile and another for each Page you switch into. A group your Page joined is in the Page's list, not yours, unless you joined it yourself as well.
GroupSignal offers the groups of the profile Facebook is using in that Chrome. While Facebook is on your personal profile, you see your groups. Switched to your Page, you see the Page's.
Give your Page its own Chrome profile
Facebook switches profiles for the whole browser, so in the Chrome you use every day you would keep moving between yourself and the Page. A separate Chrome profile has its own Facebook sign-in: it stays on your Page while you use Facebook as yourself in your usual profile.
- In Chrome, select Profile at the top right, then Add Chrome profile, as Chrome Help describes. Name it after your business so it's easy to tell apart.
- In the new profile, go to facebook.com and sign in with your own Facebook account, the one that has access to the Page.
- Switch to your Page: select your profile picture at the top right, then your Page's name. If it isn't listed, choose See all profiles or Switch profile first. Facebook's Help Center has the details. You need access to the Page on Facebook to switch into it.
Connect GroupSignal as your Page
- In the same Chrome profile, add GroupSignal from the Chrome Web Store. It opens Sosaly to connect: sign in to your Sosaly account there, the same one you already use if you have one.
- With Facebook still switched to your Page, open GroupSignal and choose Check Facebook access.
- On Sosaly, your Page now appears on Connections as its own Facebook account, under the Page's name. Choose its groups for your monitors as you would any others.
Your plan counts the groups you watch, not the Facebook accounts that read them, so the Page adds no cost of its own.
Keep it watching
- Leave Facebook on your Page in that profile. If you switch back to your own profile there, GroupSignal stops reading the Page's groups until you switch to the Page again and choose Check again in GroupSignal.
- Keep a window of that Chrome profile open. GroupSignal reads groups while that profile is open on your computer and Facebook is on your Page. After it has been closed, it catches up on posts from up to the last 24 hours, and Sosaly shows when each group was last checked.
- Watch your own groups too, if you like. Your personal profile can keep watching its groups from your usual Chrome profile at the same time. Matches from both arrive in the same Sosaly inbox, and one search covers both groups lists.
What GroupSignal does as your Page
It reads posts in the groups you choose and nothing else. It never posts, comments, reacts or messages, as your Page or as you. It checks one group at a time with pauses, at a pace you can slow down on Connections but never speed up, and waits longer when Facebook asks it to. No tool can promise how Facebook treats an account, so if your Page matters to your business, checking less often is the gentler choice.
